Results – Monterez Golf Club – 19th November 2013

Report

That we have entered the wet-season was very obvious this morning at Monterez, one needed to be a golf enthusiast to enjoy it on some fairways, the greens were okay on all though. Anyhow, we all battled it through and the scores were not too bad in the end.
Ian Wise and myself had both 37points, checking the last nine points did not separate us but the last six holes total points did i.e. I won, cut four to 18 and Ian second, cut one to 21. Lowest gross 92 Ian and myself and most golf played by Aftab with 105. We all had lunch at the club afterwards, service a bit slow but food okay on most plates.

Results – Perangsang Templer – 6th November 2013

Report

Everybody arrived early and the first flight teed off at 0730 hrs. The weather throughout was very pleasant, but the course was wet and soggy in places, not surprising after the recent rains. Absolutely no run on the fairways, with many instances of plugged balls. The greens were also slow but true. Anyway everybody enjoyed their day. Lunched at the Tang, for the usual excellent lunch. Glen kindly bought the beer to celebrate his upcoming birthday.

The winner was Iain Wise with 93 for 40 points. Good round considering the conditions. Well done. Cut 4. In second place on his home course was Paul Geddes with 86 for 37 points. Cut only 1…..Full results attached.

In second place was Ray Funnell with 96 for 38 points, plus 3 bonus points (41). Afab cut 4 Ray cut 1. Three players had the lowest gross, 87. Paul Geddes, John Laidley and Kevin Wiggins.

Results – Amverton Cove – 22nd October 2013

Everybody arrived on time, thank you, and we teed off on time off the blues. Cloudy weather to start, looked like a downpour, but soon cleared, and most of the round was played in very pleasant conditions. The course was in excellent condition, although the greens were a little sandy, with the odd uneven run as a result. Many compliments on the day, and we will certainly play the course again soon.

The scores reflected the course and the conducive playing conditions. 75 % of the players were under the 100….  The winner, with also the day’s lowest gross, was John Laidley with an excellent 77 for 43 points. I had the good fortune to watch his great round. For his efforts John is cut 7…. Second place was Erol Akinci with 92 for 41 points cut only 1….. Full results attached.

We lunched at the Chinese restaurant by the bridge, and an enjoyable meal
was had by 15 players.
