BUKIT BERUNTUNG REPORT-21-06-2022

Cannon’s

Today we teed off with only one flight. The LC members who decided not to come have missed something. The course was in a good condition and the weather was not too warm. Every now and then some wet patches on the fairways but that was not too bad, and the greens were very good and most of the time difficult to read. So an extra challenge. The winner today was Ricardo Castro with an excellent score of 81 gross with 37 points. The second was Josef Winter with a respectable 90 for 35 points followed by Hans and Jan. With these results the LCOTY standings Ricardo still leading with a comfortable 74 points followed now by Josef Winter with 63 points. Today we skipped our normal lunch due to some last-minute duties in KL. Next week we plan to play Staffield and we hope more Cannon’s can join and make better numbers for our last game of June. Stay safe and see you guys next week.

Cheers

Jan/Ricardo

DANAU REPORT-14-06-2022

Cannon’s

A small group of 6 gathered in Danau to try to conquer this course. It was not an easy morning!! The course is as always very up and down, with hardly any horizontal fairway, including the greens. Some of the pin positions were so difficult that the ball came to rest even further than you were putting it from.

Halfway we were (un)pleasantly surprised by severe rain. The siren went so we had to wait. This took about 45 minutes after we finished the last nine. Of course, the fairways were a bit soggy in some places, but not too bad. At least we didn’t lose any balls because of water on the fairways.

Because it was quite late we decided to have a bite at the club (no beers of course…..) and we had that with the “respectable” number of three players. First time I think we had such a small group at lunch. I do want to remind everyone that lunch after the game is seen as part of the game, so please try to attend!

The winner was Ricardo with 84 strokes and 33 points. Chia, who played his third game finished second and Josef as third.

Next week Bkt Beruntung

BUKIT UNGGUL REPORT-07-06-2022

Cannon’s

Bukit Unggul is a great course to play. The surroundings are stunning and the course itself is well playable for middle to high handicappers and the low handicappers have to use their heads a bit more. In some places, the course was a bit soggy, but that was not too bad. With good weather, not too hot, we had a very nice morning. We had lunch at the club, good food, and was reasonably priced.

That the course was in a good condition was shown by the scores. The two “home players” Mike and Tony ended up 1st and second. Mike with a very good 42 points (score: 77) and Tony with 41 points.

We welcomed David Cheung on his 5th game and is from now on officially a Loose Cannons member! Chia played his second game, so has another three to go.

We also had a new guest amongst us. Siggy took his colleague Frigg with him.

Jan played his 100th game with a donation of 100 RM for the lunch. He received a sleeve of balls for the occasion.

We also celebrated the 2021 LC of the Year. A bit late but not forgotten. Quite some prizes were to be handed out. Hans received a towel for being the last in line. The player halfway down the list, Tony, received a sleeve of balls. In 4th place was Helmut who received a sleeve of balls, Bernhard ended up third and got a nice and real LC cap, while Ricardo was the runner-up and received a nice Portuguese bottle of wine. The winner of last year was Jan with a total of 75 points, who received the annual trophy and a special commemorative shirt to be worn the next game.

NILAI SPRINGS REPORT-31-05-2022

Cannon’s

It was a lovely morning at Nilai Springs with 2 flights teeing off at Island and 1 at Mango nine and we had quite a good pace finishing almost at the same time for a good lunch at the club. The booth courses were in great condition with tricky greens. We salute the retune of Jan after a few months of absence and David Cheung was playing his 4th game for LC. The winner today was Josef Winter with an impressive 86 for 39 points, followed in second by Mike Williams (lowest gross) playing his hdc 83 for 36 points, and in third place was Ricardo Castro with a reasonable 84 for 34 points. With the last game of May, the winner of the monthly competition is Helmut Dicknoether with an impressive 85 points, second Ricardo Castro with 79 points, and third Bernhard Romahn with 76 points. With these results, Ricardo Castro increased his lead in the LC of the year competition with 70 points followed by Bipan Kapur and Iain Wise with 48 points and not too far Helmut Dicknoether with 40 points. Thank you all for keeping supporting our society.

Cheers
