Finally on the last game of the month we enjoyed a bright sun and blue skies, after more than 2 months with a very bad haze. The course was in good conditions with a fair fairways and very good greens specially on the first nine. Today’s winner was Fritz Katzengruber with a fantastic 90 for 39 points, Markus was second with a good 38 points, and in third place was Ricardo Castro with a solid 76 for 37 points. With these final results, Markus is the monthly champion with 78 points, followed closely by Ricardo with 76, and in third place Steve with 72 points. Regarding the annual competition Fritz and Ricardo are now the leaders with 82 points followed by Bernhard with 80 points, so all open to find who will be the 2026 player of the year.
Cheers

REINLI GETTING SOME COURSE TIPS FROM A LOCAL EXPERT.
Six brave Cannons, teed off before 8:00 am with a very hot, humid and hazy weather. The first 2 hours the air quality was not so bad as in KL, with some good improving on the back nine with sunny weather. Regarding the course conditions, I must say long time we didn’t experience the 2 par fives (hole # 4 & hole # 12) so soggy as today, and on the top of that the hole # 12 the fairway was also so damage due the previous night wild boar offensive, making some balls disappear very easy and hard to find, but all the other fairways were good with very nice greens with tricky pin positions. Tony Hoyle played his second game. The winner was Ricardo Castro with a excellent 74 for 39 points, followed by his flight buddies (The R’s team), Roland Steiner with 37 points and Reinli Tan with 35 points. With these results for the monthly competition, Ricardo is now leading the pack with 67 points, second and third are Steve and Iain booth with 62 points. Due the low numbers left after the game we decided to lunch at the club. Next week lets go south again to the hilly Bkt Unggul to beat the haze I hope.
After a great trip to Johor Bahru for our annual away games, Seri Selangor was the club to play back home, with good but hot weather but not so much haze. I think this will be the last time we play this course layout before the massive construction starting early next year. Good course conditions with nice fairways (except on hole # 13) with sandy and very slow greens, with some very tricky pin position. Today’s winner was Marckus Nijmeijer with a fantastic 40 points, followed by Iain Wise with a solid 96 for 36 points, and in third place was Fritz Katzengruber with a nice 33 points. With these results Iain is now leading the monthly competition with 62 points, second with same points is Steve but Iain in one of the games has the highest score, and in third place is the JB champion with 61 points. We welcomed Tony Hoyle for his first game and he got a LC sleeve of balls as a welcome gift. Next week lets go south to Danau (for some a Mickey Mouse course) for our third game of the month.
Cheers

OUR GUEST IN ACTION. WELCOME TONY HOYLE TO OUR SOCIETY.
First time at Johor Golf Club for our JB 2nd away game and we were not disappointed. What a course to finish our JB tour, with a brand new club house the feeling and atmosphere was good and friendly around the place. I must say all was very well organized from the bag drop, car park, registration counter, locker rooms and starter following the tee times with a interval of 10 minutes of each flight, and that how a golf club should be run. We all started on hole # 10 from the white tees, even we saw on the score card its was short, but for the first time i think was reasonable to stay with the white. Very nice layout with interesting tee shots with OB at one side and water on the other side, and the back nine was much more hilly with some challenge holes. Steve was the highest score with 37 points, followed by Josef with 36 and Jan with 35. With these results and combined with the results from the previous day, Josef is the 2026 JB champion with a total of 71 points, second was Steve with 65 and in third place was Jan with 64 points. Well done Josef, definitely the best and the most consistent player on the field. For the Team competition, the winner team was the MAGIC FOUR (Bernhard, Iain, Jan & Steve) with a solid 364 points beating the MAJORIDI GANGSTARS team (Ricardo, Diederik, Marc & Josef) with 346 points. Bernhard won the Birdies competition with a total of 2 birdies. After the game we all rushed to a very nice Chinese restaurant, and we had an excellent food, thanks to our tour F&B expert Iain Wise, and very cold beers and other beverages. Thank you to Steve Collins for his contribution of 200.00 rm the night before, marking his first time on tour. The tour dinner was held at Indian restaurant OLIVA, with a nice Indian food and a nice LC prizes table setting. After dinner our convener Ricardo Castro started the prize giving presentation to finish in style our JB tour. Thank you everyone for your support during the tour, specially for your nice offer on our last dinner, really appreciated the gesture and consideration. See you next week at Seri Selangor.
Cheers

The first away game was played at Horizon Hills with hot, hazy and humid weather. We started before our original tee time on the UEM nine and crossed over to the Gamuda nine. Good course conditions with nice fairways and very good and speedy greens. Gamuda nine was so far the most difficult nine expressed on the final results with only 3 players scoring 30 or more. Josef was the best score with 35 points, followed by Diederik and Marc with 30 points. We had a good lunch at the club lounge with good food and cool beverages.

Our regular LC game was held at Forest City (Classic course) with a hot and humid weather but less haze this time. As always the course was in a fantastic condition only this time the greens were a little bite sandy, but this is definitely the best course in Malaysia, no doubts about that. Iain Wise was playing the first time and he was so excited with the fairways and tee box grass conditions and he couldn’t resist to laid down and enjoy the grass. The winner was Steve Collins scoring a solid 93 for 35 points, second was Jan van Driel with 94 for 33 points, and in third place was Josef Winter with 94 for 30 points. Marc Louette received 50.00rm prize for his September high performance. We had a lunch at the club to celebrate Iain’s birthday and he got a special limited edition box of balls. Thank you also for his contribution of 200.00 Rm for the lunch. Dinner time we extended the birthday celebrations with a special birthday cake. After this busy day we all ready to the away competition with the first game at Horizon Hills.

Five of us started our trip to JB with the fun game at Daiman 18 GC, with a hazy and very hot weather. With an interesting layout, the course conditions was average with a not well maintained fairways but with a nice greens. Overall we enjoyed the game with the first (I think) Loose Cannons Jumbo flight, and that was fun and a lot of laugh. Lunch was at the club with some cool beers.
