The last game of August was held at Tasik Puteri with a nice and pleasant weather. Three flights started on time on Tasik nine with quite difficult course conditions with super dry and hard fairways, and speedy greens (9.5). The back nine we played the Puteri course, with better conditions even dry but much better fairways and regular greens but with very difficult pin positions specially on holes # 2, 3, 4 & 9. The winner was Bernhard Romahn with a solid 84 for 38 points, followed by Ricardo Castro with a nice 79 for 35 points and in third place was Josef Winter with 93 for 32 points. With these results Reinli Tan is the monthly champion with a strong 83 points, followed by Steve Collins with 78 and Josef Winter with 75. August games done and for the LCPOTY annual competition, Bernhard still firm leading the pack with 78 points, followed closely by Fritz Katzengruber with 67 and Ricardo Castro with 65. Four months to finish 2026 and all still open with a few candidates to be the 2026 champion. Hans Berger just back to the course after a long 3 months recovery, and we all hope he can finish the year in a very strong note. Lets start September hostilities at Bangi.

Nice to be back to Staffield to play the third game of the month with sunny and hot weather on the first nine and in a question of minutes the weather changed to black clouds and thunder rumbling not to far from the course, but luckily the storm just went away of us with a very little rain and we finished the round again with blue sky and hot sun. The course was in a good conditions, with dry and hard fairways, with a nice greens, playing quite fast specially on the first nine. Fritz was the winner with an amazing 88 for 43 points, beating Steve by only two points with a solid 41, and in third place was the local magnificent Chinese duo Reinli and Marvin booth with a good 40 points. Actually with these course conditions we had 4 players scoring 40 and above, and all the remaining players the lowest score was a 32 points, so pretty good scores for everyone. We had a nice lunch at the club, celebrating the Josef’s 200 games milestone, and he contributed with 300.00 rm to the bill, and we all appreciated his generosity. With these results Reinli is now leading the monthly competition with a very strong 83 points, followed by Steve with 78 points and Marvin in third with 76 points. Next week lets go to Tasik (24-08-2026) to play the last game of August.

Dear Friends,

It is with sadness that I report the passing of David Lake, a good friend and a Loose Cannons KL member.

David joined Loose Cannons on 15th of October 2024 at Kota Seriemas and he played his last game on 22nd of April 2025 at Tasik Puteri with a total of 8 games on his belt. He was also a Klogs member with 3 games played.

David has been described by many of his golf partners friends as a typical English gentleman with a dry and shy accurate sense of humor. He came from Newcastle and was a keen Newcastle United supporter. Even though he played only a few games with us, David left his mark as a truly excellent human being, with a nice character, very kind and always happy.

On behalf of the all Loose Cannons members, our sincere and deeply condolences to his wife, children’s, grandchildren and family. Our prayers to our friend David who will be sadly missed and may he rest in peace.

DAVID AT KINRARA WITH LOOSE CANNONS, PLAYED THE WRONG HOLE, AND WITH A BIG SMILE AND ACCURATE SENSE OF HUMOR, HE MADE THE MOMENT EVEN FUNNIER.

Three flights (11 players) started before 8:00 am on hole one with cloudy and very humid weather. We had some rain for about 10 minutes between hole 3 and hole 5, and after that until the end no more rain even very cloudy but dry. The course condition was not so good with very hard fairways with many places without grass and some of the greens were not in a good shape, but overall the course was playable. Hole # 4 has now a new layout with a new green placed on the right side over the water, making this hole much more challenging and very interesting to play. Reinli Tan was the winner with a magnificent 43 points, second was Ricardo Castro with a solid 76 for 38 points, and in third place was Marc Louette and Steve Collins, booth with an easy 37 points. With these results Steve are now leading the monthly competition with 73 points followed very closely by Jan and Ricardo booth with 72 points, and Josef with 71 points. All open for the last 2 games of the month and next week we will be playing Staffield.

The first game of August was held at KGSAAS with three full flights playing first the Alam nine and crossing over to the Sultan nine. The course conditions on booth nines were perfect very good fairways and greens. The weather was hot with nice blue sky. Jan was the winner with a solid 87 for 40 points, followed by Josef with a brilliant 87 for 39 points, and in third place was Steve with a easy 94 for 36 points. Lunch was at the club and David Evans got his prize related with his good performance on July competition. Next game at Bkt Kemuning.
