Results – Nilai Sparings Golf & Country Club – 20th October 2015

Fourteen players teed off at 8-00am at Nilai Springs, Bernhard being a late drop out because of the haze, the Germanic contingent was however reinforced by the presence of a Huns Berger (that was what the registration recorded him as).
We played the Island and Pines nines both being in very good condition, the scoring however did not reflect this.
Twelve people attended a very enjoyable lunch at Restoran East of Highway, where good F & B was troughed by all.
Results
The winner was Ted Parslow with  a score of 82 for 38 points beating the runner up Allan Wright on count back. The lowest gross was Geoff McLaws with a round of 80.

Results – Kinrara Golf Club – 13th October 2015

Fourteen players including three of the unwashed who were less vocal than the previous week teed off in slightly hazy conditions. The golf course was in reasonable condition and we teed off at 8-00am on the first nine. Several players complained about the shortness of the course playing from the white tee boxes, it is a shame that their scoring did not reflect this.
The winner on the day was Brian Stubbs with a gross of 89 for 44 points continuing his recent good run.  Runner up was myself with 42 points. Best Gross was Andrew Chez with a good score of 74 which included 5 birdies and eagle putts. Stuart is back later this week and several players are probably due a handicap haircut.
An enjoyable lunch attended by 8 players was taken at Restoran East of Highway.

Results – KGSAAS – 6th October 2015

Thirteen gentlemen and five unmentionables teed off in slightly hazy conditions. We teed off at 8-00am and played the Sultan and Presidents nines with a two tee box start. Both nines were in reasonable condition for this reliable track. The scoring however was not good.

The winner on the day was an unmentionable with a gross of 89 for 38 points. Runner up Allan Wright, well done Allan. Best Gross an unmentionable with a tally of 81. Following the rumour that the unmentionables would be paying for lunch and drinks, only 2 of them attended the lunch.
An enjoyable lunch was taken at the clubs Chinese restaurant spoilt only by the slightly dodgy fish, however the 11 attendees managed to consume 550Rm worth of beer.

Results – Staffield Golf Resort – 29th September 2015

5 Full flights teed off on time on the Northern and Western courses, in thank goodness light haze at Staffield GC. The course was in excellent condition, although the greens were a little slow but consistent.

The winner with an excellent 76 for 41 points was Geoff Mclaws. Well done. In second place was Brian Stubbs, 96 for 38 points who I watched “snatch defeat from the jaws of victory”  in the last 4 holes. In spite of the motivation from Allan threatening to throw him in the lake…..

11 players adjourned to the East of Highway for an enjoyable lunch. Service was unfortunately much slower than usual. We said goodbye to Alan Mc as he is now on his way back to S.Africa. He very kindly paid for the beers.

Report – Bukit Unggul – 15th September 2015

After a last minute drop out we started with the “17”. Thank goodness only very light haze. But after 5 holes the heavens opened, and as is becoming customary lately , we stopped for the rain…this time for only  about 30 minutes.  Once the storm went through conditions became pleasant. Unfortunately 2 players decided to stop at the rain break.
Several greens had been tined and sanded , which effected the putting. Scores generally were quite good.
An enjoyable somewhat liquid lunch was enjoyed by the 12 players who stayed. Thank you to Peter May who donated 3 jugs , as a parting donation, as he may well be away for a couple of months and Ray, 2 jugs, for passing the 350 games played mark.

The winner ocb was Hans Berger with an excellent 86 for 41 points, beating Peter May 101 for 41 points. Well done. Full results attached.

Report – Bukit Kemuning Golf & Country Resort – 8th September 2015

Four flights convened at Bukit Kemuning this morning …. well almost four flights …. Robert Mulliss came rolling up at 8:10 as we were on the first tee with the first group already half way up the first …… some feeble excuse about his GPS taking him the wrong way via some back roads in Shah Alam.

We only got in about 5 holes when the rain came and eventually after waiting for 30 – 45 mins at the rest hit we abandoned play …. the first time in many a year.

Results – Monterez Golf & Country Club – 1st September 2015

We had 14 players today ….. well 13 at the start …. and then Paul Geddes showed up 4 holes late to join us after driving to the wrong club …. Staffield!! … only the furthest golf course from anywhere! Weather was good although a bit hot near the end. The course was good, the greens especially in good condition, some of the tees and fairways could have been trimmed however. We all finished in good time and headed off to lunch at the nearby Choong Foong Seafood Restaurant.
Results
Our winner today was Glen Wombwell with 39 points and a gross of 97 …. well done Glen. He couldn’t make lunch so his RM50 went in towards lunch and beers. Runner up was Peter May with 37 points and a gross of 105. Best gross of the day was Stuart Taylor with 87. The longest drive of the day was Paul Geddes …… oops we have already covered that mistake! Results – Amverton Cove – 25th August 2015

We had 5 flights today and 19 players for the Loose Cannons August Trophy Game at Amverton Cove. We all got off on two tee boxes at 8:00am and all made good time around the course. Weather was good – a little overcast and hazy. The course was generally in good condition but I noticed a few areas around the course which were rather untidy and needed some attention. Greens were fairly good but many people noticed them to be a little bumpy.
We had lunch and prize giving at the seafood restaurant back along the road from the club next to the river. Paul Geddes was given his trophy which he won back in June but Andrew Chez, our winner of the day, unfortunately couldn’t join us for lunch – his trophy will be passed on to him but the winning RM50 was promptly put back into the coffers by Moneybags, Iain Wise and put towards the lunch.
Results
The winner of the August Trophy Game was Andrew Chez with 38 points and a best gross of 78. This was on count back (Back 9 … Andrew Chez 21, Barry Cousins 18) from Barry Cousins who was runner up also with 38 points and a gross of 101. Full results are below :
