Gents,
We played Bangi this morning, with the Kajang nine closed and under repair, we played the Bangi and Putrajaya nine. The Bangi course has changed so much compared to a number of years back. Much fewer trees, and no bunkers at all, which makes the course less interesting to play. It is easier though as they keep the rough very short, fairways relatively wide, and not a lot of water on the course. The course was in very good condition, and it was nice to play. We were not really slowed down by anyone, so we finished well before 12. After a drop-out and an add-on, we teed off with three 3-balls, which also helped in a good speed through the course. The weather was quite nice, not too much sun, and every now and then a breeze.
We enjoyed an excellent lunch in a “new” restaurant in Kajang, advised by Chia. His generous donation kept the costs in line, for which we all thanked Chia!!
The scores reflected the relative ease of the course. The last of the nine was Bernhard with 32 points!
Ricardo played very well with a gross score below 80. Chia, Ricardo, and Hans ended up in shared third place with 38 points. Roland and Jan were fighting for first place with both 39 points, which was won by Jan on countback with 24 points on the back nine.
Next week, we will play at their neighbors, at Danau.
