The last game of November was held at Amverton Cove course with overcast sky full of dark clouds all morning but luckily no rain and off course very humid. We’ve had a lot of rain over the last two days, but surprisingly the course was in good conditions to play, and we had a very nice and pleasant round of golf. Today’s winner was Siggy with a fantastic 90 for 39 points, followed closely by Ricardo Castro with the lowest gross of 75 for 38, was not enough to beat Siggy score, and in third place Jim with a solid 96 for 35 points. With this final results, Jim Stevenson is the November champion with a nice 78 points, second was Ricardo Castro with 73 and in third place Tony Morris and Siggy booth with 32 points. For the LCPOTY competition Ricardo increase is distance to the second place with 156 points, Jan van Driel holf for now the second position with 76 points and Bernhard moved close to Jan now with 72 points. Christpoh Hobtitsch played is second game with us. One more month to close 2025 and the first game of December will be at Bangi.

CONGRATULATIONS TO JOSEF WINTER, OUR LC IRON MAN TO HIS FANTASTIC RESULT AT THE LAGUNA PHUKET TRIATHLON INTERNATIONAL EVENT. OUT OF 350 PARTICIPANTS, JOSEF FINISHED IN 181st WITH A FANTASTIC MARK OF 03:51:16, BEATING MANY YOUNG ATHLETES, ON THE MALE GROUP HE FINISHED IN 149th PLACE, OUT OF 287, AND OUT OF 13 HE FINISHED IN 4th PLACE IN HIS AGE GROUP (60 to 69) UNDER FOUR HOURS, IMPROVING AND PULVERIZING HIS TIME FROM LAST YEAR BY 9 MINUTES. WITH THIS IMPROVEMENT I AM CERTAIN THAT JOSEF HAS ALREADY BEGUN PREPARING FOR THE 2026 EVENT TO IMPROVE UPON THIS RESULT. WELL DONE JOSEF.

Rainy morning at Nilai specially the first 3 holes, but after the storm came the bonanza with cool and fresh air, and we finished the round with a hot sun, but very humid weather. We started on the Island nine hole 16 (flights 2 & 3) and hole 17 (flight 1), crossing over to the Pines nine. The fairways were playable except the first 3 holes (16, 17 & 18) on the Island nine, they were very soggy, and under the conditions the greens were quite nice. Hans Berger and Fritz Katzengruber abandoned the game after the first 3 holes due the poor weather and course conditions. We welcomed two guests (Siggy friends from Austria), Bernd Loibnegger and Christoph Hobitsch, and they got 1 LC sleeves of balls each as a welcome gift. Today’s winner was Reinli Tan with a solid 102 for 37 points, bernhard Roamhn ws second with a nice 88 for 34 points, and Ricardo Castro finished the podium with 33 points scoring the lowest gross of the day (80). With these results, Jim Stevenson is now the leader of the Monthly competition with 73 points. followed by Tony Morris with 72 and in third place is Ricardo with 68 points. So all open to the final game next week at Amverton Cove.

The second game of November, was played at Bkt Unggul club with hot weather, short rain, and finishing the round with hot sun. The course was playable with slow and sandy greens on the first nine (1-9). Today’s winner was Jim Stevenson with an excellent 88 for 43 points, second was Tony Morris with a solid 90 for 38 points, and in third place Hans Berger with a nice 114 for 36 points. With these results Tony Morris is now leading the monthly competition with a solid 72 points, followed by Fritz Katzengruber with 66 and Iain Wise with 65 points. After the game 5 of us rushed to the East of Highway restaurant to celebrate in style Josef’s birthday who contributed with 300.00 to the bill. We all wish to our Iron man, Josef Winter good luck to the Laguna Phuket Triathlon event at the end of this month. See you guys next week at Nilai Springs.

What a great way to kick off the November competition, playing Tasik nine and Puteri nine. The course was in good condition with nice fairways and well maintained greens. Today’s winner was Fritz Katzengruber with a nice 96 for 35 points, beating OCB Ricardo Castro and David Cheung. We celebrated the convener’s birthday with a gift and Ricardo sponsored 200.00 rm to the bill. Siggy got a Ipoh shirt and cap as a gratitude for his non stop support to our society and Martin Belderink got his deserved gift to commemorate his 200 games miles stone. Fritz received his deserved champion prize to celebrate his October monthly performance.
