KINRARA REPORT-03-02-2026

Loose Cannons at Kinrara Golf Club

The first Loose Cannons game in February took place at Kinrara Golf Club. All nine highly motivated players arrived well before 7:30 a.m., making the check-in process very smooth. The three flights were ready at the tee before 8:00 a.m. – clearly everybody was eager to get going.

Due to a public holiday in Kuala Lumpur — but not in Selangor — Kinrara GC was very popular that morning. Many of golfers showed up at Kinrara GC. We had to pause briefly before our first flight could tee off, and unfortunately this became the theme of the day. Slow groups ahead meant waiting on almost every hole, providing plenty of time for deep reflections on swing mechanics, life, and lunch plans. The front nine took already 2 hours and 20 minutes, and the back nine decided to test everyone’s patience even further. In total, it took nearly five hours to complete the round – definitely a test of endurance rather than just golfing skills

Course & Weather Conditions

Overall, the course was in good condition, and the 18 holes are varied and interesting to play. Kinrara GC demands accurate shot-making, as several fairways are demanding, leaving little room for creative interpretations of the line. Only small sections of the fairways were slightly soggy. The greens were challenging but fair.

The weather was nice: sunny, blue skies and pleasantly warm, with no excuses available from above.

Results & Highlights

The lowest gross score of the day was recorded by Bernhard, who played a strong round of 88 strokes, closely followed by Siggi with an impressive 89 gross. – Proof that good golf is still possible, even during extended waiting periods.

The Stableford results were as follows:

  • Third Place
    Roland – 37 Stableford points, gross 90
  • Runner-Up
Fritz – an excellent 39 Stableford points, gross 93
  • Winner
Siggi – an excellent 39 Stableford points.
Siggi claimed victory on countback, confirming once again that in golf even decimals matter. Congratulations to Siggi!

The 19th Hole

A special highlight was the celebration of the January Player of the Month. Both Bernhard and Siggi finished the best two games in January with 78 Stableford points, making it a very tight race. Bernhard ultimately took the title thanks to the higher score among his two best rounds – congratulations to Bernhard and commiserations to Siggi (there’s always February).

Christof, a guest of Siggi, played his fourth round with the Loose Cannons and posted a very respectable 37 Stableford points – clearly feeling right at home.

Attendance at the clubhouse lunch was unfortunately very limited, as most players had to rush off immediately after the long five-hour round.

Cheers

BKT UNGGUL REPORT-27-01-2026

Loose Cannons at Bukit Unggul Country Club – January 27th

The Loose Cannons held their golfing day on January 27th at Bukit Unggul Country Club, enjoying the club’s very scenic natural surroundings and well-maintained course layout. We teed off before 8:00 am and enjoyed a very fast first nine holes, with no flights ahead of us. At the crossover, however, we encountered two flights, which significantly slowed downplay on the back nine. We were pleased to welcome Christoph, a guest of Siggi, who played his third round with the Loose Cannons. Participation was once again very good, with three full flights on the course.

Course & Weather Conditions

Weather conditions were excellent throughout the round. We played under sunny skies with clear visibility, and as there had been no rain for quite some time, the fairways were very dry. This resulted in long ball rolls, which unfortunately also led to a few lost balls for some players. The greens were slow but acceptable. A constant and pleasant breeze accompanied us for most of the round, with temperatures only becoming noticeably hot during the final holes.

Results & Highlights

The lowest gross score of the day was recorded by Siggi – who played an excellent first nine – with just with 89 strokes. In the Stableford competition, 3rd place went to Dave with 36 points, runner-up was Siggi with 39 points, and the winner of the day was Reinli, achieving an excellent 44 Stableford points with a gross score of 93.

The 19th Hole

Overall, it was another successful and enjoyable Loose Cannons golf day, combining good weather, strong participation, and competitive yet friendly golf.

A special moment of the day was the celebration of Tony’s birthday. Tony generously contributed RM 300 towards lunch, which was very much appreciated by all participants. Lunch was enjoyed together at restaurant East of Highway.

Cheers

KGSAAS REPORT-20-01-2026

Loose Cannons at KGSAAS – A Near-Perfect Day for Golf

Our latest Loose Cannons outing at KGSAAS saw very strong participation, with four full flights taking to the course — a great sign of continued enthusiasm and commitment within the group.

We played the first nine holes on the Sultan course, followed by the back nine on Alam Shah.

The first flight teed off at 8:00 am on Sultan, with the remaining flights following smoothly and on time.

Course & Weather Conditions

Overall, the course was in good condition. While parts of the fairways were slightly soggy due to rainfall the day before, they were still very playable. The greens were in acceptable shape and rolled well throughout the day.

The weather could hardly have been better: slightly overcast, not too hot, and ideal for scoring — conditions that clearly helped produce some excellent results.

Results & Highlights

The lowest gross score of the day was recorded by Bernhard, who played a strong round of 86 strokes, closely followed by Clive with an impressive 87 gross.

The Stableford standings were as follows:

  • Third Place:
Bernhard – 36 Stableford points (on countback), gross 86
  • Runner-Up:
    Clive – 38 Stableford points, gross 87
  • Winner:
Siggi – an excellent 39 Stableford points with a gross score of 90, securing a well-deserved victory.

The 19th Hole

Lunch was enjoyed at the club restaurant, where we duly celebrated Siggi’s successful round — unfortunately in his absence, as he had to leave immediately after the game.

All in all, it was a very enjoyable Loose Cannons round, combining good golf, great company, and perfect playing conditions. We’re already looking forward to the next outing and the inevitable post-round analysis that follows.

Cheers
