Summary of the 20 most important rules changes for 2019.

We had 4 full flights today at Bukit Kemuning, with 2 flights teeing off on each of the nines at 8:00am. Weather conditions were pleasant and the course was relatively good making for some good scores today.
After the game we had a good lunch at the O&S Restaurant in Bukit Kemuning with a few nice cold beers.
The winner this week was Brian Stubbs with an excellent 95 for 42 points. Runner up was Ted Parslow with 83 for 39 points. Best gross today was Geoff McLaws with a 77. Full results tabulated below:

The monthly trophy game this month was held at KGSAAS and although we were booked for an early tee off at 7:30am because of heavy rain we were delayed by about an hour. The first few holes were rainy (so at last I could try out my new rain jacket!) but otherwise the course was in good shape. Soon the sun was out and there were blue skies making for a pleasant morning’s golf and the rain making things a little cooler.
After the game we had lunch and the prize giving ceremony at the clubhouse terrace.
The winner of the August Trophy was Geoff McLaws with a score of 76 (best gross) for 38 points.

Runner up was Tony Morris with 91 for 37 points. Full results below:

We had 5 full flights today at Staffield Country Resort and started the day on the terrace with a presentation to Aftab Ahmad who is leaving shortly to return to California. He was presented with a pewter Royal Selangor plate which I am sure he will use to eat his breakfast from every day from now! Good luck in California Aftab and hope to see you back here for a visit soon. We also took the opportunity to take a group photograph.

We played the Western and Southern nines today and the course was in good shape as usual, somewhat dry therefore resulting in players hitting longer drives than normal. The greens were good so no complaints on the course at all. Weather was very good and although the weather forecast predicted rain mid-morning we manage to miss this luckily.
After the game we had a good lunch and quite a few cold beers on the terrace.

Our winner this week was Andrew Robinson, returning from a long trip in UK with almost no golf, with an excellent score of 92 for 43 points. Runner up was Aftab Ahmad with a score of 90 for 41 points. Geoff McLaws had best gross of the day with his 76. Full results below:

It always seems to take a long time to register and get started at Nilai Springs and today was no exception …. our 8:00am tee-time turned into a 8:20am start with our 4 flights all off of the Pines nine followed by the Mango nine. Weather was hot …. really hot by the time we finished. The course was dry and the greens running quite fast and tricky.
Highlight of my game was getting on to 10-12ft from the pin in two on the Par 5 second hole on Pines ……. putting for an eagle then managed to 3 putt for a par (WTF!)
We all finished by 1:30 pm or so (apart from Geoff McLawws who left after 9 holes to sort out some dog issues!) and took lunch on the terrace.
The winner this week under these difficult conditions was Aftab Ahmad with a score of 94 for 37 points, 2nd place to Ricardo Castro with 87 (best gross) for 33 points. Full results below:

Today, we played LC’s game at Tasik Putri CG, 12 players signed-up for this game. The registration was quite smooth, as everyone showed up on time. Weather was not too bad and the golf course was in good condition.
Glad to see George Murray after a long-time, he played great game.
Welcomed back Hans Berger; Yes, our full-time convener & organizer for LC games. Lunch was at the club attended by 10 players.
Today’s winner was Ricardo Castro (82 – 39 points) on OCB. The second place was George Murray (101 – 39 points) and third place Aftab (95 – 36 points).

With Hans Berger away on Summer vacation it was Ted Parslow who arranged today’s Loose Cannon’s game at KGPA. We originally had 18 signed up but with 2 late pull-outs it was 16 making a nice round 4 flights.
We welcomed back Geoff Parslow to the group who has not played for some time and Paul Geddes’ guest Lewis Marr.
We teed’ off on the Lakes 9 at 8:30am prompt and then finished on the Forest 9. Weather was good and the course was in good condition so it made for a good morning.
After the game 13 of the 16 players took lunch at Pantai Seafood Restaurant throwing back quite a few cold beers in the process.
The winner this week was Kaz Takita with a score of 89 for 39 points, ocb from Ricardo Castro who also scored 39 points. 3rd place was shared between Ted Parslow (85 for 38) and Stuart Taylor (84 for 38). Full results below:

Kota Seriemas were in pretty good nick compare to when we played it last time Feb 26, although some greens still had the hollow tining not completely recovered from. We were the only players at that early hours and the weather were cloudy at first with a little bit of wind until the sun came through, quite nice actually.
No one run away with a high number of points so at the top three it were pretty tight.

– winner Iain Wise with 37 points
– runner up Ted Parslow on count back with 35 points
– shared third Stan Constantinides, Aftab Ahmad and Allan Wright also with 35 points
– lowest gross, who of the single handicappers did the best job this day, Andrew Chez did with 80 strokes

We had 3 full flights this morning at Amverton Cove and we started promptly at just before 8:00am. The course was in pretty good shape and the weather pleasantly cool. We made good time round the course then retired to the usual restaurant just over the bridge after the game for some much needed refreshments. Food was passable but surprised a Chinese restaurant had run out of chilli!!!
The winner this week was Kaz Takita with a score of 91 for 38 points. Runner up was Geoff McLaws with a 77 (best gross of the day) for 36 points. Full results below:
