Results – Kajang Hills – 25th October 2011

Cannons all,
14 LC’s took on Kajang Hill all wondering how much longer this lovely track will be available to us. The staff know nothing on the closure date and we can only hope that the course will continue to be maintained and we can play it at least once more before the bulldozers move in.
After overnight rain the morning dawned clear and became quite hot before clouding over later. The course was in generally good condition and the greens were nice and true although here and there the first signs of neglect could be seen. Inevitable I guess.
Ben Webb playing off a legitimate handicap of 15 was the winner with an 85 for 38 points plus 3 bonus points for total of 41 points. Ted Parslow was runner-up OCB with 39 points and 1 bonus point making 40 with John Laidley third OCB with 38 plus 2 bonus points. Ben is cut 4 strokes and Ted 1 stroke. Ted and John both returned 79’s for joint lowest gross and Alan played the most golf.
M&M was taken at the club since it’s part of the package and it was OK.

Results – Staffield Golf Resort – 18th October 2011

Cannons all.
14 Cannons turned out on Tuesday at Staffield. Most of us had not played there for some while and were pleased to find the course in excellent condition with true greens. For me, Staffield remains one of the best courses in the country.
The winner with a fine 42 points was Barry Cousins and the R/U OCB was Erol Akinci with 40 points from Sigi. The lowest gross was Sigi’s 85 and the most golf was played by Dick Stauffer with 114. Barry is cut 6 strokes and Erol the mandatory 1 stroke.

11 of us went to Mantin for M&M and very good it was too. A good morning was had by all.

Results – Bukit Unggul – 4th October 2011

Cannons all.
18 LC’s turned out Tuesday on a cool and overcast morning and enjoyed a course in good condition, especially the greens that were lush and true if a little slow. Alan Holgate was a no show; out of bed late then the car wouldn’t start! I didn’t think modern cars had those sort of problems. Anyway, Alan sent his apologies. Thanks Alan.

Registration at BU is rather complicated due to the different charges levied; Members, Seniors, HSBC Card holders, Voucher holders etc., so in future we will assemble a little earlier. Thanks to Ray F for organising the registration while yours truly found his way back from Nilai having overshot the Bangi exit. Daydreaming. A bit of a worry!!!
All were round in reasonable time despite being held up on our back 9’s by some very slow players.
The winner with a gross 79 (37 on the front 9) and 40 points was John Laidley and the runner-up OCB from Barry Cousins was Sigi with 86 for 39 points. Low Gross was John’s 79 and the most golf was played by Rick Brown with 109. John is cut 4 and Sigi 1.
