Report
Registration worked well, and the first flight teed off, on time, at 0745. hrs. Flights had to be changed slightly as two players got a little lost and one person, claimed no E Mails, went to the wrong course.
The first 9 was the Hills and the second was the front 9 on the Lakes. Both courses played long and the rough, after all the rain was tough, as a result the scores were higher than usual with only 7 of the 16 starters breaking the 100. The greens were in excellent condition, but some of the pin positions were somewhat challenging….
Geoff Parslow had an excellent round of 80, for the lowest gross of the day. The winner was Ray Funnell with a 98 for 38 points, cut 4 and Stuart Taylor was again the runner up with 96 for 37 points. – cut 1.
Lunch was taken at the club and all bar one person joined the beer free banter.

Results – Rahman Putra – 15th March 2011
Cannons all.
Rahman Putra was a tad soft underfoot through the green but the greens were firm and fair. 10 Loose Cannons took up the challenge and as we have come to expect, found the course unforgiving of errant shots. You have to find the fairways here. The rough, when wet, is very rough and punishing.
The winner with 36 points was David Hughes and the runner up Barry Cousins with 34 points. Cuts of 4 & 1 stroke apply. The lowest gross was 90 by David and the most golf was played by Dick Stauffer. The full results and your updated handicaps can be found on the attachment.
Numbers were down as is always the case because of the KLOGS game tomorrow. I know we aren’t getting any younger but I’m sure most of us can still manage to play on consecutive days!
M&M was taken at the club which was up to it’s usual high standard and with the amber nectar at a reasonable price the F&B bill was reasonable. RM55 carry over.
Loose Cannons will go on a Northern Tour to Ipoh at the end of the month for the Trophy Game at Clearwater Sanctuary followed by a 2 day tournament at Meru Valley. Andrew has made a very good deal on Club Rooms at the renovated Impiana ( thank you Andrew) and we expect to have a very enjoyable trip. Currently we have 8 confirmed participants for the full tour and we aim to top this out at 12 on a first come first served basis. We won’t go with odd numbers. For tour details see earlier blog post.

Results – Rahman Putra – 27th April 2010
A total of 15 Loose Cannons members and 1 guest turned up for this week’s game at Rahman Putra. The course was in excellent condition, especially the greens and the weather was fair so no excuses for bad golf … think again …. Rahman Putra is a tough little course and this was reflected in the scores and results posted.

Andrew Robinson 94 31
Benhard Romahn 105 26
David Hughes 90 33
Hans Berger 96 32

Mike Smith 96 34
Ray Funnell 102 26

Winner of the day and monthly trophy winner was Ian Geekie (cut 4) with runner up Mike Smith (cut 1) both with 34 points. Lowest gross was David Hughes with 90. I brought along a guest, Allan McNicoll, who managed to win the prestigious “most golf award”.
Also … spotted on the course today was what I thought was the leftovers from Hans Berger’s breakfast fruit platter …. but it was only some palm oil seeds!!
