Wet and cool morning at Sungai Long with some rain on the first four holes. Hole # 1 fairway was quite soggy but overall the course was in a great condition as always. We had Hans Benn for his second game and Roland Steiner for his third game as well. The winner today was Bernhard Romahn with 88/35, in second was Ricardo Castro with 84/32, and the lowest gross was followed by our guest Hans Benn with 90/31. Lunch was at nearby Zheng Palace with good food and cool beers.
Always a pleasure to play at Templer Park, with beautiful scenery, great course conditions, and a fantastic group of brothers. Two flights teeing off from hole # 1 on time and we finished quite in a good time all the 18 holes. We welcomed Mike Fay from down under, for his first game with us and we are looking forward to seeing him again. The winner today was Iain Wise with a nice 94 for 36 points, beating Ricardo Castro (lowest gross) for 1 point 85/35 and in third place was Bipan Kapu with a reasonable 102/32. Today we celebrated 2 birthdays (Erol Akinci and Bernhard Romahn) with some LC gifts and they also contributed 200.00Rm each for the lunch and a big thank you for your donation. Next, the game will be on Thursday 21st at Sungai Long, due to the Publick Holiday on Tuesday and Klogs on Wednesday. It was also nice to see again Andrew Robinson playing with us even DNF but the most important is his company. See you guys and stay safe.
Cheers
Ricardo Castro

Geoff Parslow sadly passed away in Australia on the 18th March after a long struggle with cancer and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Geoff was a Club Professional at Yarra Yarra Golf Club and Tweed Heads Golf Club in Victoria and a Touring Pro playing on the Asian Golf Circuit, the PGA Tour of Australia, and after he turned 50, the European Seniors Tour. He won the Victoria Open in 1977 from Greg Norman and Johnny Miller and played in the Open Championship at Royal Lythan & St. Annes in 1979 finishing T54 behind the winner Seve Ballesteros.
Geoff was a partner with his brother Ted and Jason Winter in the very successful golf course design company Parslow & Winter Golf Design, responsible for numerous courses in Malaysia and beyond, the most notable being the redesign and redevelopment of TPC Kuala Lumpur.
After his playing career ended Geoff came to live in KL and in 2012 he joined Loose Cannons with Ted and played 324 games with us and joined several of the clubs Away Tours. Geoff brought a new dimension to Loose Cannons games. Geoff had a wicked sense of humor and was always ready to offer some advice to his playing partners, but in an off-the-cuff matey manner that was greatly appreciated.
Geoff will be missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.
The course was nearly fully booked, we had to accept a 20-flight shotgun start with a group of Terengganu government officials. We were originally supposed to start at 8:15 but were allowed to start half an hour earlier at hole 14.
In the beginning no golfers in front of us. We were able to enjoy our own pace. It only took us 65 minutes to play the first 5 holes. Then we were facing the government officials in front of us they played extremely slowly. In total it took us almost 5 hours to finish (ie almost 4 hours for the remaining 13 holes).
Greens were very sandy, slow, and hard/dry, fairways were in good condition. The weather was good, a bit overcast and not too hot. The winner today was our new member Bent Serritslev with a impressive 94 for
46 points followed by Tony Morris with a fantastic 87 (lowest gross) for 40 points, and in third place was
Bipan Kapur with 98 for 37 points. Only Andrew and Iain kept the LC tradition and went to Annex for a
long and refreshing lunch.
