A total of 15 Loose Cannons members and 1 guest turned up for this week’s game at Rahman Putra. The course was in excellent condition, especially the greens and the weather was fair so no excuses for bad golf … think again …. Rahman Putra is a tough little course and this was reflected in the scores and results posted.

Winner of the day and monthly trophy winner was Ian Geekie (cut 4) with runner up Mike Smith (cut 1) both with 34 points. Lowest gross was David Hughes with 90. I brought along a guest, Allan McNicoll, who managed to win the prestigious “most golf award”.
Also … spotted on the course today was what I thought was the leftovers from Hans Berger’s breakfast fruit platter …. but it was only some palm oil seeds!!

Next Loose Cannons game on 20th April will be at Danau Golf Club – the advert states “Exciting Golf” …. so let’s see! As usual be there at 7:30am for a 8:00 am tee off.

Danau Golf Club is just south of Bangi Golf Club and directions are as below:
The clear winner with 42 points was Rein Le Tan, clearly rejuvenated now that his gearbox is performing well. Rein Le, you are cut 6 strokes. Runner up was guest Siegie with 37 points but the member R/U was Klaus with 36 points. Cut 1 stroke. Someone made the comment that they couldn’t remember this ruling being applied in the past. Well, we are not in the past so get used to it.
The lowest gross was our other guest Frances with an excellent 85.
The M&M bill came to a modest RM545 and after all the cash in hand was donated (including Rein Le’s winnings) everyone coughed up RM20. The change plus RM160 which I owed (because I came out without my wallet) means that a hefty RM180 goes into the kitty. We will need to spend some of this soon.
Many thanks to Klaus Kretzschmar for the photographs.
The next Loose Cannons game will be at Nilai Springs GC on Tuesday 13th April and as usual tee off will be at 08:00am so be there at 7:30am latest. This is a Top Premier course so bring your TP books.
David Hughes has kindly donated a bottle of JW Black label for the winner – this is David’s final game before he returns to UK.

After a slow start due to congestion on the first tee boxes the Loose Cannons 5 flights (total of 17 players) got under way under pleasant conditions. Course conditions were good and the greens were all in very good condition. Later in the morning however things did get rather hot and humid.

An excellent lunch was subsequently enjoyed at Equatorial Restaurant on the outskirts of Rawang with a surprisingly few bottles of beer consumed (4)! Not like the good old days of 24 bottles plus.
Winner of the day was Benhard Rohman who shot a gross 92 with a massive 46 points (cut 10 strokes) and runner up was John Preston with 37 points (cut 1). Best gross was Tony Morris and worst gross was Glen Wombwell. With Captain Mike Smith back at the helm of Loose Cannons the next game will be Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Club on Tuesday 6th April. Be there at 7:30 latest for an 08:00am tee-off.
Lunch after the game will be at the Equatorial.

After 10 weeks of organising the Loose Cannons Tuesday game my spell of duty has come to an end, so I am off to Sid’s to celebrate!
The winner of last week’s Tuesday Tosser Award is proudly given to Andrew Robinson for his failure to use an identifiable ball as his provisional ball. With a poor voting turnout of only 7 Andrew won with a total of 4 votes (57%).
