A total of 15 Loose Cannons members and 1 guest turned up for this week’s game at Rahman Putra. The course was in excellent condition, especially the greens and the weather was fair so no excuses for bad golf … think again …. Rahman Putra is a tough little course and this was reflected in the scores and results posted.

Benhard Romahn 105 26
David Hughes 90 33
Hans Berger 96 32
Ian Geekie 104 34

Winner of the day and monthly trophy winner was Ian Geekie (cut 4) with runner up Mike Smith (cut 1) both with 34 points. Lowest gross was David Hughes with 90. I brought along a guest, Allan McNicoll, who managed to win the prestigious “most golf award”.
Also … spotted on the course today was what I thought was the leftovers from Hans Berger’s breakfast fruit platter …. but it was only some palm oil seeds!!

Heads up Cannons
The TROPHY GAME next Tuesday, 27th April 2010, will be at RAHMAN PUTRA.
Tee off at 08:00. Be there by 07:30 LATEST.
Although he doesn’t say so, I am sure Mike would wish you to inform him if you intend to play!!
This is not a TP course, but the beer is cheap and the food is quite good, so I assume results announcement & M&M will take place at the Club!
Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia is indeed one of the most unique club in the country. It was established through envisaging a club fostering admirable and commendable social consciousness, goodwill, community spirit and healthy living through active sports and recreational participation.
This 36-holes golf course that spreads over 279 acres of land is interlaced with some 30 acres of shimmering lakes and reflects golfing experience at its utmost grandeur. Enhanced with natural landscape, undulating terrain, out-crops, bunkers and dips, the course poses a unique challenge for golfers of all standards.

Results – Danau Golf Club – Tuesday 20th April 2010
12 souls braved a wet and very soggy Danau Golf Club and the scores reflected the difficulty of this track, made more so by the conditions and the spiteful positioning of some of the pins. The course was in reasonable condition considering the overnight rain and the greens were firm, true and quite fast but this is a tough golf course.
Ray Funnell was the clear winner with 37 points (5 on one hole) from David Hughes with 30 points. David also recorded the best gross of 94 with the most golf played by Michael Hughes.
Only 6 players went on to the RSC annex for lunch which was disappointing and that small number plus the fact that we were 3 full flights and Ray forfeited his winnings meant that there was a healthy surplus of RM212.
We may consider playing Danau again next leap year.
Next Game – Danau Golf Club – 20th April 2010

Results – Nilai Springs – 13th April 2010
The clear winner with 42 points was Rein Le Tan, clearly rejuvenated now that his gearbox is performing well. Rein Le, you are cut 6 strokes. Runner up was guest Siegie with 37 points but the member R/U was Klaus with 36 points. Cut 1 stroke. Someone made the comment that they couldn’t remember this ruling being applied in the past. Well, we are not in the past so get used to it.
The lowest gross was our other guest Frances with an excellent 85.
The M&M bill came to a modest RM545 and after all the cash in hand was donated (including Rein Le’s winnings) everyone coughed up RM20. The change plus RM160 which I owed (because I came out without my wallet) means that a hefty RM180 goes into the kitty. We will need to spend some of this soon.
Many thanks to Klaus Kretzschmar for the photographs.
Next Game – Nilai Springs GC – 13th April 2010
