Geoff Parslow sadly passed away in Australia on the 18th March after a long struggle with cancer and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Geoff was a Club Professional at Yarra Yarra Golf Club and Tweed Heads Golf Club in Victoria and a Touring Pro playing on the Asian Golf Circuit, the PGA Tour of Australia, and after he turned 50, the European Seniors Tour. He won the Victoria Open in 1977 from Greg Norman and Johnny Miller and played in the Open Championship at Royal Lythan & St. Annes in 1979 finishing T54 behind the winner Seve Ballesteros.
Geoff was a partner with his brother Ted and Jason Winter in the very successful golf course design company Parslow & Winter Golf Design, responsible for numerous courses in Malaysia and beyond, the most notable being the redesign and redevelopment of TPC Kuala Lumpur.
After his playing career ended Geoff came to live in KL and in 2012 he joined Loose Cannons with Ted and played 324 games with us and joined several of the clubs Away Tours. Geoff brought a new dimension to Loose Cannons games. Geoff had a wicked sense of humor and was always ready to offer some advice to his playing partners, but in an off-the-cuff matey manner that was greatly appreciated.
Geoff will be missed by all who had the privilege to have known him.
The course was nearly fully booked, we had to accept a 20-flight shotgun start with a group of Terengganu government officials. We were originally supposed to start at 8:15 but were allowed to start half an hour earlier at hole 14.
In the beginning no golfers in front of us. We were able to enjoy our own pace. It only took us 65 minutes to play the first 5 holes. Then we were facing the government officials in front of us they played extremely slowly. In total it took us almost 5 hours to finish (ie almost 4 hours for the remaining 13 holes).
Greens were very sandy, slow, and hard/dry, fairways were in good condition. The weather was good, a bit overcast and not too hot. The winner today was our new member Bent Serritslev with a impressive 94 for
46 points followed by Tony Morris with a fantastic 87 (lowest gross) for 40 points, and in third place was
Bipan Kapur with 98 for 37 points. Only Andrew and Iain kept the LC tradition and went to Annex for a
long and refreshing lunch.

We all can see Iain’s improvement on
his game for the last 4 games, well done Iain, and keep improving your game. With today’s results, the
Champion for February is the inevitable Iain Wise with a total of 84 for 20 points sharing first place with
Bipan Kapur for the LC of the Year competition standings. Stay safe and see you all next week at Amverton.
We back again to Bkt Beruntung, the course and greens were in good conditions and the weather was
quite humid and hot. This week we only had 2 flights and all came early except Tony who had some
problems with the alarm early morning, but he managed to reach the tee box on time. The winner today
was Ricardo Castro (lowest score) with 85/35 followed closely by Iain Wise with 96/34 and in 3rd place
was Bipan Kapur with a reasonable 103/32 points. Besides the prize ceremony for today’s winner, we also had the prize for Bipan as a January champion. One note for Bent who complete his 4th game, so one
more game and will be a full-LC member. We had our lunch as usual at Full Moon with excellent food,
Always a nice morning to drive all the way South and play the Nilai Springs course. This time we played
Pines and mango nines with always nice fairways and greens even with some difficult pin positions but overall the course was in a good shape. The winner today was our new member Bipan Kapur with an
excellent 92/44 points, followed by another guest Bent Serritslev, who completed his second game with us with a score of 101/34, and in third place was Iain Wise with a good 99/32. After the game, this time we stay at the club for lunch following their new beer prices much more affordable for us and nice and cheap food. We had a special Hole in One ceremony with a special prize set for Bipan Kapur.
