There were 16 players this morning for our game at Amverton Cove and we started from 2 tee boxes ta 8:00am. The weather was good although it got very hot and humid by the back 9. The course was fairly quiet (other than the noisy caddies!) and we made good time around the 18 holes. The course was in better condition and the fairways seemed to have more grass on them now.
After the game we had lunch at the club which was surprisingly good – beer in cans only – but no one seemed to go thirsty!

20 players arrived at Amverton Cove but with heavy rain coming down play was delayed until 9:30am when 19 of us (minus Barry Cousins) decided to brave the wet fairways. Surprisingly the course was in good shape even after so much rain and as long as you could keep on the fairways the going was good. The greens were in good shape and running fairly true. With the cool weather after the rain it was a generally pleasant morning.

For the last game of the year and our trophy game for December we played at the beautiful Kota Sieremas Golf & Country Club. 15 players turned up after the post Xmas celebrations and we all got off on the 1st tee around 8:00am. Weather conditions were very good and the course was in very good shape. The greens were a little damp and slow over the first 9 holes but by the back nine the greens had dried out and were running faster. Play was speeded up as we could take the buggies on course (for an extra fee of course!)

We held our traditional Loose Cannons Xmas Lunch at the usual venue of the Coliseum Cafe on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman in KL on Friday 15th December. As per normal procedure we all met in the bar for pre-lunch drinks and had the extra touch of some santa hats to wear for the occassion. Everyone brought a bottle of wine and our Chief Somelier Richard Moss inspected these bottles and decided on which bottle was the worst one; in this case it was the one brought by Peter McGowan and he was fined the normal RM50.
