The Northern Tour is proposed for March 26-29, as follows:
Category: Loose Cannons
Next Game Tasik Puteri Golf & Country Resort. 6th March 2012
Results Raman Putra Golf Club 28th February 2012
With the last minute withdrawal of Erol {(some urgent business has just come up!) code perhaps???} 19 LC’s teed it up at Rahman Putra under a cloudless sky with just the slightest breeze to help cool the otherwise hot conditions. We played Hills and the course was in excellent shape if a little soft in places, but spoilt a little by uncut tee boxes but it did have very nice greens. But there was much more to the morning than the condition of the course.

Results – Lembah Beringan Golf Club – 21st February 2012
Cannons all,
17 LC’s teed it up at a very soggy Lembah Beringin Tuesday. We had been 20 but with Mike Han pitching up Monday!!!! and late withdrawals because of a bleeding nose and work interruptions from Tony Russell and Bruce Davidson we were reduced to 17.
The weather was fine and although the course was rather busy with some visiting Koreans, a pleasant round was anticipated. What we didn’t know was that the course had been inundated overnight restricting buggies to the track for the most part and with very soft fairways (akin to a quagmire in places) and water filled bunkers (they have a serious drainage problem here) LB was a sterner and longer test than we had expected.
The winner was Ray Funnell with 39 points and the runner-up Hans Berger with 38 points. The lowest gross was 89 by Siegmund (actually Kevin Wiggins recorded 88 but his flight had unilaterally invoked Winter Rules and so their scores were not considered in the official results) and the most golf was played by Alan Holgate with 113.
Full results and handicap adjustments can be found in the attachment.
13 of us drove down to the EQUATORIAL for lunch and excellent it was too. The Scandinavian contingent missed the exit and arrived later after a detour to the Sungai Buloh exit. You will get this with great navigators.

| DOESN’T LOOK GREAT, BUT THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT! |
The winner; Ray, chose to eat at the club and in his absence it only seemed right that he should “generously donate” his winnings to the pot. Thank you Ray.
This was Mike Hughes & Lars Barkhed’s last game on their annual pilgrimage from the frozen north. Bon voyage guys. We hope to see you both next year.

Results – Templer Park – 8th February 2012
Cannons all,
Templer Park has to be one of the best course layouts in the country with a backdrop that is unsurpassed. The only blemish as I have said many times being the hideous house at the base of the Tigers Tooth. With some money spent here this could and should be up there with the best hosting the Malaysian Open again. Bright sun with almost no breeze greeted the 16 Cannons comprising 14 regulars and 2 new faces; Charlie & Bruce. Welcome to Cannons.
The course was in good shape but recent heavy rain had left several very soft areas resulting in a few plugged balls. The greens were a bit bumpy having been recently hollow tined but quite fast. Templer is always a challenge and so it proved with nobody playing to their handicap.
The winner with 32 points was Ray Funnell with Vincent Vijayan R/U OCB with 31 points. The best gross was 91 from Andrew Robinson and the most golf was played by new boy Charlie. Ray is cut 4 strokes and Vincent 1 stroke.
M&M was taken at the Annex where the service is very slow but the food quite good and the beverage affordable.
